It’s been 6 months and our travel shoes were already gathering dust waiting to make another trip. This Labor day weekend was quite a long one and obviously we didn’t want to stay home. This time it’s the beautiful California. A 5 day trip altogether. We are always the last minute people and plan to cover most of places in a short time. Yes, imagine covering Los Angeles and San Fransisco in a 5 day trip including the long Pacific Highway scenic drive. We managed it though and it was super fun.
We have taken gazillions of pictures this time and was thinking of making separate posts for each day. I want to share pretty much every single detail of our vacation and hence this is just the first day of our trip.
We flew straight to Los Angeles on Friday and the La-La Land welcomed us with a warm weather hug. Dropping our luggages in our hotel we headed for the Hollywood sign. Everybody wants to get as close as they can get to watch the sign and watching it from the Griffith observatory is a good option, we drove around North Beachwood Drive and the view was pretty good.
Next we headed to Hollywood Blvd. The Dolby theatre was an amazing experience. It felt great to imagine that this is the place of the Oscars. There’s the grand staircase where the red carpet walks take place and you will find all the Oscar winning movies listed around.
And this is hollywood-walk-of-fame, it’s a public viewing area. I was really keen on watching the names on the pavements, as I have seen them numerous times on TV and on the treadmill I walk. The place is extremely touristy and we loved the ambience.
I did some good shopping at the Hollywood and Highland and then we headed over to Ghirardelli right beside El Capitan, had free chocolates. Dinner tasted great with Hot fudge on plate..
That’s it for Friday and we were super thrilled for next day’s Pacific Coast scenic drive.
